Learn information about the Qualities and Assets of the Sony MDR-XD200

By Kyra Huddleston

It has been said that everything sounds better when you opt to go with the Sony MDR-XD200 Headphones; whether, you are listening to your music, watching a movie, or simply playing a video game. These headphones have been designed to be used at home and they give off a wide range sound at 40mm drivers. The sound quality that you get from these headphones is very robust.

The Sony MDR-XD200 headphones come fully designed with neodymium magnets, which gives off a higher frequency and a greater power handling. If you are hearing the term neodymium magnets for the first time, it means that these headphones are designed to maximize energy, while maintaining the size of regular headphones. The ferrite magnets that are in these headphones are five times clearer than the regular ones that are on the market although they are of the same size.

The bass of the MDR-XD200 goes to roughly 30Hz but will sound much better if it is played at 40Hz. When played below 40Hz, the bass will give off a kind of harmonic distortion. This distortion begins when you play at 35Hz or lower. This problem occurs due to the fact that the bass port that is found inside the ear-cup is not fully covered by the Sound Mode Valve. If you choose to play the bass below 32Hz, you will realise that you will still hear the sounds through the headphones but there will be a great deal of the odd harmonics that was mentioned above and very little fundamental frequency.

The cord is oxygen free copper Lutz A. There is a frequency response of 10Hz-22,000Hz. Sensitivity is 102dB/mW. Impedance - 70ohms. As was mentioned before, the headphones are adjustable. There are a number of accessories that you will get with the Sony MDR-XD200 such as: the Sony Warrant card and the Unimatch plug adapter. The sound mode switch allows for automatic EQ adjustment for when you are listening to your music or watching your favorite show. The wide split headband and the urethane ear-pads make for comfortable listening. The 40mm drivers and neodymium magnets give the most powerful sound you could ever imagine.

The cord that comes with this headphone is quite long and has been described as the longest headphone cord ever. This is a good thing, right because there is no problem for you to move around and do what needs to be done without being hampered by your device. Overall the Sony MDR-XD200 is a really good pair of headphones and if you are looking for one of the best on the market, you can look into these headphones.
