Expressing Your Self Through Orchestra And Bands

By Ora Scott

Music has been part of every one's culture even way before the ancient civilizations. This mirrors a nation's culture and is mode for self expression for most people. There are a lot of people who make this as their passion and would enroll in music school so that they can join orchestra bands in the future.

Bands and orchestras have some similarities because both can be played in a concert setting and they mostly have the same musical instruments. The big different that they have is that a band does not use string instruments like violin, oboe, or cello.

One thing that would make an orchestra so amazing is the variety and number of instruments that it is composed of. The instruments that you normally see here are percussion, strings, woodwinds, and brass instruments. Orchestras that only have fifty or less instruments are referred to as chamber orchestras and it is called symphony for those that are more than a hundred.

It is understandable that they are most of the time associated with classical pieces because that is what they mostly play. However, you should also take note that they can play other genres as well. They can do their own rendition on different kinds of songs ranging from country, pop, rock, and many others.

Becoming a part of these groups especially orchestras is something that needs a lot of preparation because of the tough competition that one has to face just to get hired. There are many people who would vie for even one spot so it is better if one can start preparing for it when he is still a child.

Practice is key if you want to make it to have a good career playing the instrument of your choice. You need to do this a lot so you can just play any excerpt without giving it a lot of thought. To give you confidence to perform in front of a crowd, join talent shows or present yourself at school or whenever there is a chance.

Getting inside orchestra bands maybe a hard thing to do but the benefits are worth it once you will succeed. Only a few people are paid just to do what they love to do. This also gives you a chance to be in different places or meet people that famous and influential.
