Colorado Symphony Orchestra Show Dates

By Therese Short

The Colorado symphony orchestra is one of the best performing arts organizations in the United States. The artistic group regularly performs to audiences consisting of people of all ages. Their special family oriented shows on February 12th and April 29th serve to introduce children and young people to the music they enjoy.

Their resident conductor is Scott Oneil. He was appointed to this position during the month of January 2011. Before that, he served as associate conductor. He sets a high standard for the group. Attendees enjoy the enthusiasm and liveliness he displays at every show.

On the 20th day of January, 2012 Scott Oneil is going to lead a performance of music based on the work of composer Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. Passes for their shows can be obtained for around nineteen dollars when a sale is on. Usually, adults can take pleasure in their music for less than sixty dollars.

The musicians are playing music from Mozart, Riders in the Sky and the Saint-Saens Organ Concerto during the month of January. Shows will be held from Friday to Sunday. On February 14th, Jim Brickman will help to create the atmosphere for a wonderful night for couples.

Boettcher Concert Hall is the second home of these musicians. The venue can easily accommodate over two thousand people. The designers of the building constructed the walls in a manner that allows sound waves to be easily dispersed all through the auditorium. Most of the seats are about sixty or seventy feet away from the stage. This allows the audience to be very near to the performers.

The instrumentalists believe that music should be shared with the entire community. They have intentionally slotted shows at schools and churches in their calendar. People who do not attend a Colorado symphony orchestra performance at Boettcher Concert Hall can enjoy their talent elsewhere. The group does not like a passive audience and encourages participation.
