Finding Solutions To Kitchen Space Woes

By Stacy Hancock

Cooking is akin to playing orchestra. The chef needs to manage and co-ordinate quite a few activities all at once including what is cooking on the stove, in the oven, prepare ingredients on the kitchen table, take out vessels that are required and use various equipments to grind, chop, mix etc. God forbid if the kitchen is small and has no adequate space to turn around, they will find it hard to get going.

Most people cannot imagine working in a kitchen without a center table. This is a must for doing all the pre work for cooking. But come to think again, may be it makes sense not to have a table and make room to move about.

But then you have the counters, which is every chef's lifeline. They just about can use their counter for any kind of work.

Yes kitchen does need floor space. But it is not for sitting down and cooking, but to be able to move around the kitchen freely without obstructions. No body now a days cook on the floor unlike olden days. Besides it is unhygienic too. Counters that have tabletops made out of solid stone or tile like granite and placed at the right height make good work place for chefs to all the preparatory work.

But then a kitchen table is always great help. Though it does take away some space, it still gives you enough space to prepare the food at one central place and let you use the counters to store the utensils and preparations.

Using the chairs around the kitchen table, you get actually get more people to sit down and help in making preparations. Multiple jobs can be managed at once on the table by different people.

You can opt for foldable chairs that come in handy when required and can be stacked away when not required. This way you can have your folding table, chairs and make space in your kitchen too.

You can even setup a small food counter and let people have buffet dinner. Thereby by you will be able to save space and give them enough space to move around. Few stools here and there will suffice.

Quite often we are faced with this no go situation where the kitchen is small and we have no space for a table but we want to have everything in place. Well this is where innovative solutions help us achieve what we want.
