Effectively Using New Years Resolution Quotes

By Lola Dohrman

Many individuals write out long lists of what they expect to achieve during the upcoming year. Only about five percent of all who make resolutions actually achieve their goals. There are varied reasons for this and knowing what they are will greatly enhance your ability to achieve your own goals. Utilize New Years resolution quotes to assist you on your journey.

"Reach for the sky and you'll find yourself among the stars." Be realistic in your aspirations. Don't aim for something that is totally unattainable but also don't set your sights so low that you are not mentally or physically challenged.

Always be positive in your wording. Never say "I'm going to" or "I might". State strong words such as "I am", "I can", and "I will". Speak and write as if you have already accomplished what you have set out to do.

Be very clear when writing out your yearly aspirations. Don't state that you want to lose a lot of weight, state clearly exactly how much you want to take off. Instead of "I want to lose several pounds", revise and say "I want to lose 20 pounds".

Writing out your resolutions is the most important aspect of this process. Those that just keep them in their heads have little possibility of success. Having written quotes and statements will make you think success on a higher level at all times.

After you write them out, be sure to refer to them often. Some will use the Fourth of July as a midpoint to review and possibly even re-write your aspirations. If your birthday is mid-year, this is also a good review point. Designate specific times to read them so they stay fresh in your mind.

Some prefer the use of pictures as goals. For example, if one of your main drives is to buy a new car or home during the course of the year, you can cut out a picture of your dream vehicle or house and post it where you can see it every day. This will provide motivation to work hard at achieving these goals.

New Years resolution quotes can help you stay on target as far as reaching for what you really desire in your life. Memorize them, post them where they can be seen and review often, and place them in your diary or journal for better impact. You will be surprised at what you can achieve when you have motivational tools right in front of you at all times.
