Overcome your negative thoughts and achieve your goals

By Ardiv Jauhari

Getting over negative thoughts. I am willing to bet that most of you have had an experience where you are excited about a certain goal and are willing to go through whatever it takes to achieve that goal. But somehow, the people around you just don't seem to believe in your ability and instead gradually demotivates you from pursuing your goals. Over time you finally stop trying and decided that they are right, right?

WRONG!

Why would you want to spend the likelihood of you accomplishing a goal that others believed were impossible but YOU were confident enough to convince yourself that you might just be able to do it? Why would you want to let them pull you down and stop you? When you are seeking to achieve your objectives in life, there are bound to be complications, but that certainly does not mean it is not possible.

I'm not sure if you guys noticed, but life is pretty much like a certain game of wrestling called "Hell In A Cell" (I probably got the name wrong, I'm just writing this from memory). In this particular game, a group of wrestlers are situated inside the ring surrounded by a steel cage. There is only one rule to the game, whichever wrestler that manages to climb up the walls and get through to the other side will be declared the winner. If the wrestler gets pulled down while going up the wall, he'll end up back inside the ring with the other wrestlers keep beating each other up.

It is exactly the same in life, whenever you are trying to get to your goal, others will constantly try to pull you down back to the "ring". The key to winning in life is really to persevere through the tough times and keep your focus on the goal, which is in this case, getting to the other side of the wall.

Convincing yourself that you can do it when there are bullsh*t happening all around you is not an easy task, I have experienced this first hand. But my advice to you is this, get involved with more positive people, get around those who are supportive in your goals. Finding these type of people is easy, if you keep on pushing through, these people will start to emerge and you'll start to realize your true friends.

You'll start noticing these supportive individuals the further you push for your goals. Also, those who were non supportive of you will start to adapt and learn to accept your decision. This will all happen eventually if you keep on pursuing your goals.
