Affordable And They Sound That Way - Sound Proof Headphones Review

By Elijah Bell

I bought and returned two other pairs of wireless headphones in the sub-$200 price range before springing for these, and simply put they are worth the extra money. There's no interference, the sound quality is excellent throughout the range and the hiss that plagues most other wireless headphones doesn't exist.

Thanks Amazon for offering quality with great pricing. The design of earphone is so unique that I have not seen before. I'd like to be able to sit in my screened porch and listen, but it cuts out just before I get to the door, which is no more than 50' from the transmitter. We'll see if moving the transmitter (use a long audio extension cable) helps any. These are perfectly comfortable for extended periods; though I find I usually never have them on for more than a couple hours. Sometimes I just let them hang around my neck instead of putting them down; convenient. The RS180 are a blessing as far as wireless headphones go. If you're an audiophile who demands the absolute best and wants to hear every note of Tchaikovsky, it won't be on these.

I started off with a SACD (Super Audio CD) sampler from Concord Jazz (Volume 2). Track 2 of this disc is one that I am quite familiar with as I also have the complete SACD where this song came from. They aren't as good as some wired headphones I've used in the past but they are pretty darned close. As for the range, they have dropped twice, both times when I went out onto my back porch, and then only for a second each time. The $50 pair the same company sells is nice, and great for a work headset, but this is great for watching your movies at home. After listening to these, the only reason you will not have a pair for work and home *might* be the price - love them. I appreciate it. My Sennheiser RS 180 experience was better than anticipated.

Exceptionally audio and as advertised the headphones enhance the audio clarity, as if bringing the voices to the front of the screen. This particular model -- the 180 -- focuses on "open air" and the audio clarity. These cans utilize Kleer technology and an open design. I always preferred open headphones for the more natural bass response and to my 50 year old ears these sound great. When I decided on the RS-180 I bought it from J & R because their customer service is outstanding. The DVD product guide estimated an initial charge of up to 16 hours, but mine was ready for blastoff in about 7.

These headphones are fantastic. I use them for video games and movies, as well as music. Battery life was great; the original batteries are still going strong. The Sound I thought was great.

Dual driver models needed for decent bass. I bought this as a gift for my boyfriend's birthday (at his request).
