Learning How to Construct Songs with GarageBand Loops

If you are any kind of artiste, you have probably heard of Apple's Gargeband. It is workstation software that allows you to simply, merge, master and post produce melodies without needing any natural musical competen or aptitude. One of the finest things about GarageBand is that it is a complete platform for composing and sharing music. All you need is the time and will to understand the software - no advanced degrees needed.

If you mix your own loops, or even easier, employ pre recorded GarageBand loops you can experiment, mix, re-record and master a dazzling selection of sounds, beats and special effects. All it takes to create pro quality tunes is a workstation.

Using loops in this way, you can weave tunes by adding to and building on your current content, if you want to know the fundamental process, here are some simple steps to get started

Set up Garageband on your system. You can download a free edition or if you want to make some more sophisticated tunes, you can buy the full edition of the software, either on-line or at many retail stores

Once it is installed on your computer, start the application (GargeBand) and click on the tab on the bottom right hand side (it looks like an eyeball). Clicking this allows you to pick 'Loop View"

Now you should get a scroll bar that lets you scroll through all of the loops available until you discover one that you want. (You can import your personal loops and add them to this listing)

Click on the loop and move your cursor to the top right hand corner, you can extend the loop by simply dragging it.

Everybody can learn and master GarageBand loops. Relish the creative potential of the software by adding alternative sound effects and experimenting with all the different ways to modify your loop. One concluding point, make sure to save your session on a regular basis and have fun.
